You don’t reload and you want a great training round for your .40S&W that isn’t going to gouge you on the price and plays nice with your guns and shots as accurately as the premium stuff… Well, you’re in luck. This is exactly what Blazer by CCI was made for. The Boxer primed aluminum rounds are very reliable and capable but are not reloadable. The price is on point for those bargain hunters that want the best deals. The round has been proven reliable and versatile in guns of all types and with an especially good performance in full framed pistols. Furthermore, it’s as accurate as you can shoot.
The aluminum cartridge case is lighter weight than brass, but as such does not typically hold enough integrity for repeated reloads. Aluminum, while soft does not hold the same level of malleability as brass and therefore is subject to stress fractures after it’s shot repeatedly. Simply put: at this cheap price point, the materials used are excellent and the need for relatively inexpensive rounds far outweighs the small benefit of having a round that can be reloaded. It just makes sense for those who don’t reload.
1100 muzzle velocity (fps) and 440 ft. lbs. energy at the muzzle gives more than adequate functionality for guns of all types.
